I participated as a public health personnel in this project aimed at providing accessible HIV testing services to those who visited the Kumba main market. A team of healthcare workers conducted a free HIV testing at the bustling Kumba Central Market. Raising awareness and de-stigmatizing the issue while emphasizing the need to know one’s status was the main focus. Over 500 people were tested, and all positive cases were referred to the district hospital to commence treatment immediately. This initiative brought crucial health resources directly to the people, empowering individuals with knowledge about their status and facilitating timely access to treatment or preventive measures.
